Motourama Part 27: A Trip In A Trip In Macedonia
Hello family, friends and followers! This time we will have lightweight trips without all the luggage – first by foot, into Ohrid – then by motorbike around the lake, from Ohrid to Ohrid, around the Ohrid. Yes, the city, as well as the lake, have the same name!
Taking a Picture of Denise, taking a picture of Ohrid and Ohrid, what a meta-madness.
Time to explore the small alleyways and the hidden nooks and crannies of the city.
We would love to say this was the view from our room, but it wasn’t. It was the second floor of a not-silly-tourist-proof house under construction. Still, we enjoyed our time there.
First stop of the trip around the lake: scenic view to show off our proud motorbikes.
The view itself. The water of the lake is astonishingly clear.
We were riding through a green paradise. Not too warm, not too cold, perfect road with perfect curves along the shore of the lake.
Lunch break view. So silent and calm, just the small engine puttering along.
Wanna jump in…
…or rather take the stairs?
Pretty, so pretty.
The route around the lake even took us to Albania.
She was showing herself from her best side, good roads, perfect curves, nice weather!
With Esben carving up the tarmac.
As well as beaches! Everything is here, despite from the tourists, sadly.
Back in Macedonia, we took a rest…
…watched a lake-snake (sea snake)…
…stretched our legs, while searching for the perfect flat stones.
After each long search, we proceeded to discard them one by one in elegant arches, practising our stone-skipping prowess.
Denise learned, but is still defeated by the master of the stones and his magic gravity-defying-stone-throwing-technique.
And back to Ohrid, the start and end point of our relaxing day.
The view from the harbour.
It was clear; Macedonia had us head over heels for her. With the sad prospect of having to leave the country the following day, while Macedonia still had our hearts, Esben changed that night:
Who is that strange man sitting next to Esben?
Until next time, if you want to keep your heart, don’t visit Macedonia!!!
